The mind can be like a narrator of your life, unfortunately we live in a world where our minds have been trained to be the enemy of our souls, we are forced from a very young age to do things our souls do not want to do. We are forced to quiet our soul and we are not given the spiritual principle tools we need to get our mind and our soul to work together in harmony, so the mind “wins” this battle of will with the soul and it moves forward without the input of the soul, but it is like a giant rubber band, and eventually you either die because you have walked too far away from your soul, which is your life force that emanates from within, or it snaps you back and you have to re-learn how to live. Love and kindness is the only way, I cannot live without my soul. I have had to learn a new way of thinking, a new way of living, a new way of being. The mind and the soul need to learn to work together in harmony. The spiritual principles of love, kindness, hope, and gratitude are the only way to do such things. As much as we might like to “think” we are robots living on this big blue planet, we are not. We are human animals, with a heart/soul center and an amazing brain that can also be a terrible tyrant if left to its own devises.

Now is the time when we all learn that we are all equal, that we all put our pants on one leg at a time. Corona Virus is the great equalizer. The us and the them is the Great We. Why is it that we only recognize this as a Universal Truth during such times? Why is it that we cannot learn from our history? We as a species, have a long history of building “Great Societies” and watching them fall, yet we never seem to get the lesson. The human ego is such a demon if you let it be your guide, it is fragile and weak. The human ego manipulates information to make it look good to others, even when it knows the truth is something other than what it presents. Have we all fallen victim, yet again, to the great human ego? The mind is a blessing and a curse. The mind helps us gather information, learn, grow and build upon past experiences, whether learned from a book or actual experience, but it seems to leave out all the painful lessons that came with all that learned knowledge. Do we simply forget that we are still human? Human animals, one of many kinds of animal on this great planet we call Earth. Do we simply forget that we all need fresh air to breath and fresh water to drink? Animals are fragile creatures, hungry, thirsty and subject to disease and disaster. We are human animals, our minds tell us we are better than all the other animals on the planet, our minds lie.
We shut out the body that tries to tell us what it needs. Air to breathe, water to drink, food to eat, rest, and comfort. Our hearts, our souls, try to tell us what it needs, love, compassion, companionship, intimacy and community. Yes, our minds want to know more and more, yet with the whole history of the world at our fingertips we pick and choose what we want to know, and only what we want to know with the precision of a surgeon, cutting out unwanted, cancerous parts of the body. How can we forget that we are human, precious, fragile, creatures? It is only now, that we are all faced with a dis-ease that has no discernment, it cuts without mercy, do we recognize our own mortality. We are all going to die, someday. We are all here to learn lessons on this beautiful planet we call earth. Whether it is by this disease or another, we are all going to leave our bodies and pass on to another place eventually. The time is now, to reconcile the Body, Mind and Soul. Lets all live like we are dying. Because we are all going to die, someday. What will become of us, stranded on this big island, in the Divided States? I have watched as our country has made 50 years of Big Mistakes, catering to business needs and not making sure their people, their little people, could make an honest living. Shifting manufacturing to China, to all overseas companies, shutting down our factories and putting millions of people out of work. Big Business has been at war with their employees and their customers, who are actually one in the same.
Wrap your head around that. Big business has been at a war with their employees to cut the “cost of labor”, laborers who are the majority of “the people” who buy their products! You can only eat your own for so long before the whole thing goes to shit. Right wingers wanted to “fix” the problems by making government small, shutting down branches of government that seemed useless, like the Pandemic office at the White House. So here we are, in a World-Wide Pandemic, and our Government is slimmed down and unable to do the things deemed necessary to stop or slow down the issue. Perhaps, this is World War III, and it is a personal war to survive a deadly dis-ease that is spreading like a wildfire across the whole of the World. The “doers” of the world are all busy trying to “do something”, anything really, it is hard to watch as people who are not used to being alone with themselves wrap their heads around our current situation. Breathe deeply and often. Learn to sit quietly with your Ture Self, in quiet communion with your higher -Self. The Sun still shines and this too shall pass. It is when we replace false hope and fantasy with faith in a higher power. Faith in a power greater than our egos. Faith in the power that holds the universe in check. Faith in the unseen God that has a plan for us that is far greater than anything we can dream up for ourselves that our lives begin to take shape and become real. The real world is neither good nor bad, it is an ever changing and evolving life we live. Things and people come and go, pass through us, affect us, and make us become the person we were born to be, eventually, in time. Faith in all things natural and true. Time, gravity, the cycle of life and death. Let Faith replace both fear and false hope and step into the future, the now, today.
If we are grateful, every day, all day, for all the little things, then we don’t even notice the big things, because in reality big things are made up of a lot of little things. If we stay grateful for the simple things, then we don’t need to have a big celebration over the grand things and the grand things don’t take us by surprise. We just walk towards them, one day at a time, grateful for every little thing that comes our way. I am grateful every day for getting a second change to live the life my higher power intended me to live. I have learned, the hard way, that It is easier to stay humble and grateful then it is to be humbled.
Jealousy is a toxic feeling that creates fear and anxiety. Jealousy causes people to behave in ways they should not behave. Jealousy is not something we should “just learn to live with.” jealousy is something that we should dive deep down inside of ourselves and find the root cause of so that we can expel it from out lives. Jealousy causes internal energy blockages and forces us to dim our own light. The more jealous and envious you are of other people and things you see around you, the less able you are to allow your own light to shine through you. Jealousy is toxic.
I used to be stuck in the nightmare that was my childhood, now I am free. I was stuck in that old reality, where I learned bad habits and survival skills that no longer work for me as an adult. Now I am FREE to create my own reality as an adult in an adult world. I am no longer bound by the rules of my old universe, where I was taught that I existed to serve selfish, self-centered, egomaniacs who only cared for themselves. Now I can serve my higher power and the better part of me. Thank you, God, AA and ACA!
The human mind begins mapping its world very early, perhaps from within the womb. While at the same time, the human spirit is programmed to connect with the people who brought it into the world. That is when we learn, through assimilation, how to love ourselves and how to comfort for ourselves. If we don’t get the love and affection we require or if we get it in a way that is "wrong" or dysfunctional then our brains get programmed “wrong” or dysfunctional.
If we didn’t learn how to love and care for ourselves in a healthy life enhancing way as small children, it is not too late, we can learn those skills now. We must learn to love and care for ourselves, the way a loving parent or caretaker ought to have taught us to love ourselves. The way the people who brought us into the world should have (in a perfect world) We have to deprogram our brains of the dysfunctional way of not loving and caring for ourselves and reprogram our brains so that we can love and care for ourselves and learn to seek comfort from our inner self and higher power. This is no easy task, and should not be taken on lightly, but it is doable! In Kabbalah, Ancient Jewish Mysticism, I learned about something called the Ten Sefirot. I remember, up until that point, thinking that we, as humans, were supposed to have a single unified life force inside of us that was always in agreement. The Ten Sefirot tell me, that not only am I not “supposed to have” a single unified life force inside of me, that I perceive each life event from as many at TEN different points of view! The points of view do not always agree, they are not always in harmony and sometimes need careful balancing. This is why, sometimes, when we have conflicting emotions, the answer is wait. Wait until all of you are in agreement. This is why the most important conversation you will ever have is with your own self. Balancing the Ten Sefirot is a life-long pursuit!
https://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/the-ten-sefirot-of-the-kabbalah If you didn’t learn the basic spiritual principles behind the Twelve Steps when you were a small child, then it can be like pulling an elephant through a pinhole as an adult! The elephant is our ego and the pinhole is the glimmer of hope and willingness that can come from a profound moment of clarity. That moment when you realize that you don’t know who you are or what you are doing here on Earth! (I have had that moment)
The principles behind the steps are: Honesty, Hope, Faith, Courage, Integrity, Willingness, Humility, Discipline and Action, Forgiveness, Acceptance, Knowledge and Awareness, and Service and Gratitude. These are the basic things we need to be good human’s, good citizens and to have good personal relationships, provided you want to be truly happy here on Earth. This is what happens when our minds get filled with information and we think that information is who we are, until we realize that what we do is not who we are, and who we are is a very unhappy person. The work is not easy but doable!! The four agreements are a good start. |
